Let go of old school gender norms rooted in judgment. Watch: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/09/menengageorg-video-gender-norms-hurt-everyone_n_6816586.html?utm_hp_ref=women&ir=Women

But more on gender. This is not at all a complete list, and forgive me if I get some things wrong…

There are male people, and there are female people.
There are people who do not feel they have a gender at all (agender, occasionally genderless).
There are people who have a gender that is in between (some genderqueer, most androgynous, some third gender, some neutrois).
There are people who have a distinct gender altogether (other third gender, some genderqueer).
There are people whose gender changes (genderfluid, more specifically bigender, trigender, some pangender, many two-spirit).
There are people who have more than one gender, at the same time (other bigender/trigender/pangender).http://www.quora.com/How-many-genders-are-there

How quickly our lives can twist in literally seconds into an unrecognizable existence. In the morning your a wife and mother and then its all taken from you. A Florida woman in the linked article [http://www.essence.com/2015/03/04/marissa-alexander-exclusive/] runs from her husband, who has a history¬†of abused her, and previous wives, but, in a heated moment she gets a gun to protect herself and fires a warning shot into the kitchen wall. Her husband runs and calls 911reporting his wife just fired at him and his kids but the kids weren’t in the house. At her trial she is convicted of felony assault and sentenced to 20 years even though Florida is a “Stand Your Ground” defense state BUT CLEARLY the law does not apply to women against their husband. Why is that? Discrimination against women is systemic and persistent. Why does gender play a role in one’s ability to receive equal justice?
